May: Books in my Mailbox

I’m not expecting anymore books this month so it seems like an okay time to post about May’s book purchases. Technically I should have just had the two pre-orders, but I had a strange urge to buy a few paperbacks (strange because I’m pretty much strictly a hardback kind of girl) and so I splurged.

Crash by Nicole Williams
The Summer I Became a Nerd by Leah Rae Miller
School Spirits by Rachel Hawkins
Icons by Margaret Stohl

I only have one pre-order next month (Tessa Gratton’s The Lost Sun) and then it will be September before my second round of pre-orders start coming in again. I truly hope I can resist the urge to buy anything new between then and now (Lord knows I already have plenty to read in my possession), but we’ll see.

What books have you gotten recently?

Oh, new books! Shiny! It's so hard to resist splurging like that sometimes. The dork in me must point out how cool the font for School Spirits looks. :D

I recently got The Best of Dan DeCarlo: Volume 1 in the mail. (Classic Archie artist. He helped create some of their iconic characters, like Josie and the Pussycats!) I used your gift card to order volume 3 and am expecting that in the mail soon. I'm also expecting my pre-order of Sabrina the Teenage Witch: The Magic Within #2 to arrive already. :)

Good luck resisting the urge to buy more books! I already know I'm going to fail terribly in that regard when it comes to comics, haha...

School Spirits is technically a companion novel, but I love the way it looks so much the same next to the trilogy it's based off of. (Not dorky at all to note the cool font either!)

You sound like you have lots of goodies coming in the mail. I hope none of them let you down (though I doubt they will)!

As for resisting the urge... I'm thinking that when it gets really tough, I'm going to pull ALL of my books out and make two piles READ and TO BE READ and photograph them for a constant reminder of how little I really need anything new yet. We'll see if it works.

Crossing my fingers that this'll work for you! My TBR pile is front-and-center in my room, staring at me, and that really helps to keep me from splurging on new books. (Comics don't count, of course, haha.)
